Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ.
Pentecost used to be the primary feast in the ancient and medieval church.
Today, it is simply little more than an ordinary Sunday with perhaps some special decoration on the altar.

This Sunday May 3rd the Fifth Sunday of Easter the sermon title is Mise en place. The scripture is Ephesians 6:10-18.
“Mise en place” (pronounced, “meez on plahz”) is a French culinary term meaning, “to put in place.”
It refers to proper and necessary preparation before cooking. The sermon will be about the importance of preparation in living a Christian life.

This Sunday April 12th the Second Sunday of Easter the Gideons return to Kedron.
The Gideons International is an evangelical Christian association whose primary activity is distributing free copies of the Bible worldwide.
It distributes complete Bibles or portions thereof in over 100 languages, most widely known in lodging rooms, in addition to medical facilities, schools, military bases, as well as jails and prisons.
The headquarters of Gideons International is in Nashville, Tennessee.
