This Sunday November 2nd, All Saints Sunday, the sermon title is Melting Down the Saints. The Scripture is Romans 1:7-15.
The sermon is based on an incident in the life of Oliver Cromwell when there was a shortage of metal necessary for making coinage.
He instructed his followers to take the statues of the saints in the churches and melt them down so that they could “be put into circulation!”
We will also observe the sacrament Holy Communion.
Hope to see you at worship on Sunday.
Blessings,
Pastor Michael
This Sunday October 26th, the Twentieth Sunday of Pentecost, the sermon title is The Happy Contagion. Scriptures are Genesis 18:9-13 and Luke 6:20-23.
The theme of the sermon is the divine gift of laughter.
Hope to see you at worship on Sunday.
Blessings,
Pastor Michael
This Sunday October 19th, the Nineteenth Sunday of Pentecost, the sermon title is The Other 4-Letter Word. The scripture is Matthew 5:43-48
I have been pondering a topic for several weeks.
It is as though God is sending some encouragement.
The topic is Hate, which is the fuel for Anger.
Hope to see you at worship on Sunday.
Blessings,
Pastor Michael
This Sunday October 12th, the Eighteenth Sunday of Pentecost, the sermon will be delivered by Larry Fraley.
This coming Sunday is Homecoming at Lock’s Memorial; so, I will not be at Kedron this week.
Larry Fraley will be speaking in my absence. Larry is an excellent Sunday School teacher and lay speaker; I’m sure he will do a great job.
Hope you will be at worship on Sunday.
Blessings,
Pastor Michael
This Sunday October 5th the Seventeenth Sunday of Pentecost, the sermon title is The Days of Awe . The scripture is Mark 9:14-15.
The theme of the sermon is the importance of awe and its decline. Awe was once a major element of faith in God and what God has done, is doing, and will do.
I have borrowed the title from the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur; however, the theme is different from the meaning within the Jewish community.
Also, we will observe the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Hope to see you at worship.
Blessings,
Pastor Michael
